Site Usage Update

Since Health Info Translations’ website launch in late April 2005, the website has continued to show an increase in usage each month. January 2007 had the highest recorded usage to date. Nearly six Gigabytes of data were transferred in January with 4200 unique users who demonstrated actual use of the website (downloaded handouts) and averaged 10,392 hits each day. The website is being accessed by all fifty states, the District of Columbia and internationally. Ohio continues to be the state of highest usage.
Spanish continues to be the top accessed language in the inventory with Hindi a clear second. The top category being accessed is Diseases and Conditions. Three phrases that are currently driving the most traffic from search engines such as Google are subcutaneous injection sites, 24-hour urine test and modified barium swallow. The top three handouts being accessed currently are: Preventing Infections When Your White Blood Cell Count is Low, Subcutaneous Injection Sites and Giving Medicine by Subcutaneous Injection.

Most recently, Health Info Translations has partnered with the Central Ohio Trauma System and other local agencies seeking to provide translated materials for disaster preparedness. Look for this new resource for emergency planning to be added to the website over the coming months.
